Security Management

Security Management
Security options can be configured from the security section of the administration dialog (Main Console > Administration > CMS Console). Webaptive's security management and workflows are tightly integrated.

User and Groups Management

To create and manage users and groups, click on the button next to the "Users/Groups" label in the security section of the administration module.
User and Groups Management
To create new users, click on the "New" button under "Users." The resulting dialog lets you create a new user by entering basic user information and login details. A user can have one of three roles: Normal, Power and Administrator. Most site-level changes and creating/registering new web pages/posting (e.g., CMS-enable web pages, create new postings, create workflows, create and manage campaigns, create manage friendly, manage publishing changes outside of workflow) require power user rights; administrator rights are required to access the administration module and all functions within it. Access to editing, approving and publishing content is granted via the workflow as described below.

Work flow and Security

Access to edit, approve and publish content is managed through work flow. Configuring work flow is one of the steps prior to registering a new web page or creating a posting. Each step of the work flow is tied to a group and only users belonging to that group and administrators have access to performing the action required to complete that step in the work flow.

Enabling SSL

Turn on SSL in the security section of the administration console. Once SSL is turned on, Webaptive will switch to SSL if the connection is non-SSL. If the web server does not have SSL installed and enabled this could result in the web site being locked out; to prevent that SSL can only be enabled if SSL connection was used to log in to Webaptive. At the time of login, Webaptive will warn if the connection is not secure, click on the link within the warning to switch to SSL and then enable SSL in the administration console. Make sure all servers in the farm have SSL installed and enabled to prevent lockout.
